Kansas Horse Council Information Book

Jim Thomas got his first horse when he was 10, and horses have been a part of his life ever since. Jim is an avid trail rider and is dedicated to preserving and maintaining trails on Kansas public

lands. He and his wife, Cheryl, authored the Equestrian Trails in Kansas guidebook, which offers information and maps of public trails in Kansas. He is on the board of the Kansas Trails Council and is a founding member of Back Country Horsemen of Kansas. He communicates regularly with public land managers in Kansas keeping them informed of the volunteer efforts of many equestrians in Kansas, who are committed to keeping public trails open and maintained. Jim has been involved with the Kansas Horse Council since 1995 with many years on the board, including a term as president. He is currently KHC Trails Director. Jim and Cheryl live near Melvern Lake and enjoy spending their retirement seeing America by horseback!
