PFL Honor Roll/Torero Academic Success

clll• n1oneer ltootball league HONOR ROLL • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Pioneer Football League athletic directors and coaches established the PFL honor roll as a way to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in football at member institutions during the fall semester and posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher while enrolled full-time in accordance with NCAA rules. 39 TOREROS NAMED TO 2005 PFL HONOR ROLL The USO football team placed 39 student-athletes on the 2005 Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll for the Fall 2005 semester. Repeat honorees are denoted with an asterik (*). The USO football team, with a school re– cord 11 wins last season, also achieved excellence in the classroom. The Pioneer Football League an– nounced its 13th annual Academic AII-PFL squads, and atotal of ten Toreros were named, including five to the First Team. Seniors Nick Garton and Philip Bretsch were both unanimous selections, and were also recognized on the ESPN The Magazine First Team for District VIII. Garton, a senior wide receiver from Dana Point, California, earned a 3.63 grade– point average as a Business Administration major. It was his second straight year on the All-District team. Breisch, also a Business Administration major, was a senior strong safety from Fallbrook, California, who earned a 3.79 grade-point average. Joining this Torero duo on the PFL First

Team was senior wide receiver Adam Hannula (Ta– coma, WA), a 3.36 gpa as a History major; junior linebacker Kyson Hawkins (Fallbrook, CA), a 3.60 gpa as a Business Administration major; and senior defensive tackle Adam Ullrich (Arvada, CO), a 4.0 gpa in Business Administration.

Five Toreros were named to the PFL 2nd Team - sophomore WR Wes Doyle (Phoenix, AZ.) , a 3.64 gpa in Business Administration; senior TE Dustin Owen (Tucson, AZ.), a 3.22 gpa in Business Administration; junior OL Reis Rosenbledt (Burlingame, CA), a 3.30 gpa in Business Administration; sophomore linebacker Tyler Evans (Greenwood Village, CO), a 3.32 gpa; and junior defensive back Chase McBride (Solana Beach, CA), a 3.18 gpa in Business Administration. Pioneer Football League athletic directors established the Academic AII-PFL squads in 1993 as a way to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes. To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve with at least a3.00 cumulative grade-point average (on a4.0 scale} for his career. No athlete is eligible until he has reached sophomore athletic and academic standing in his institution. The 2005 Academic AII-PFL Squads are selected by the PFL Sports Information Directors. 22
