Keep Fit and Stay Healthy

Keeping our body healthy is the key for a long life. Some people are born healthy and others are not. Your health depends on two factors, one is your DNA and the other is how you choose to live. You cannot choose your genes, you inherit them from your parents. If they have good genes, so will you. However, being fit is in a way in your hands. You can decide whether you are going to work out every day or if you are going to lie on the couch all day. A human body is designed to be in motion most of the day. When your body works, it burns calories because it needs energy to feed the muscles. That way you not only stay fit but also your muscles get stronger. It is unwise and even foolish to live unhealthy. Alcohol damages your liver and therefore can get you some liver disease or even cancer. The problem is the same with smoking, the only difference is that you can get lung cancer. However, keeping only your body fit is not enough to be trully healthy. You have to take care of your mind and soul as well. A lot of different and strong emotions can affect your health. For example, some people start stammering after they were beaten as children or when something terrible happened in their life. One has to be mentally and emotionally strong to get over such unpleasant experiences. In my opinion, keeping fit and healthy is the logical choice and a smart one. That way you increase the chance of living a long life. But of course, you also need a bit of luck to achieve that.
