DETAILED EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION & CONNECTION RESPONSIBILITIES

Basic Equipment Connections to Building Utilities

KES Installer

Final Connections: The KES installer will direct the plumbing and electrical contractor to assist them in completion of the following:

1. Unpack and review provided manufacturer’s installation instructions. 2. Prior to installing equipment review pre-ground break notes and marked drawings to confirm equipment locations. 3. Clarify connection points on equipment as required. 4. Final connection of all equipment not specifically assigned to an FASC. The KES installer must check for proper operation of all control devices, switches and valves. This includes all equipment that is not con trolled by the interlock system. Example – toasters, portable meat freezers, if building conditions allow including electrical work being completed. 5. Perform quick check for power on all equipment. Example – toasters, portable meat freezers, if building conditions allow including electrical work being completed. General Contractor 1. Coordinate and prioritize final connections with KES installation crew. The focus of the trades should be on kitchen equipment the week of delivery. Electrical Contractor 1. Review McDonald’s “K” and “E” drawings for all items designated for electrical connections. 2. Perform all final connections per local code authority 3. Prior to installing equipment review pre-ground break notes and marked drawings to confirm equipment locations. Plumbing Contractor 1. Measure and verify the correct available gas pressure at each cooking appliance and adjust gas pressure to meet the needs of each cooking appliance. 2. Perform all final connections per local code authority. 3. If the plumbing contractor is unable to check and adjust the gas pressure, it remains their responsibility to contract the company to make the adjustment prior to the FASC start-up and calibration. 4. Prior to installing equipment review pre-ground break notes and marked drawings to confirm equipment locations.

Owner Operator 1. Final connections of building electrical, gas and water may not be available on the final day of installation.

When this occurs, regional operations personnel are responsible for: - Final inspection of all equipment not checkable by KES installer. - Final inspection of all FASC responsible equipment.
