STAKEHOLDER PANEL ON INFANT FORMULA AND ADULT NUTRITIONALS (SPIFAN) Eric Poitevin, Nestlé Fluoride Working Group Chair

Dr. Eric Poitevin is the R&D Expert in inorganic analysis and radioactivity in Nestlé Research Center in Switzerland.

His main responsibilities are currently in the Mineral and Metals Laboratory of Analytical Sciences Department where he leverages his expertise in food mineral analysis and methods development. His experience with Nestlé has afforded Dr. Poitevin for more than 25 years significant knowledge of technology including ICP-OES, ICP-MS, LC (GC)-MS-MS in water and food sectors. He is engaged to develop analytical standards in the National swiss accreditation organization and in European CEN Working Groups of Nitrites-Nitrates and Elements and their chemical species. He has been an AOAC member since 2008 as Working Group chair of minerals and as Working Group chair of fluoride since 2015. He was also the Study Director for AOAC Official Method 2011.14 Calcium, Copper, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Potassium, Phosphorus, Sodium, and Zinc in Fortified Food Products Microwave Digestion and Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometry Final Action 2013. He is currently co-Study director for AOAC/ISO/IDF 15151/IDF229 method (nine minerals in milék and milk products by ICP-OES). Besides activities in Working Groups of Iodine, Chloride, fluoride and Ultra Trace Elements of SPIFAN, he is also involved in Heavy Metals Working Group of SPSFAM. He finally collaborates with ISO/IDF technical committees to develop new standards in inorganic field.
