WEB CLIENT (USAGES) The Web Client is the premier solution to selectively publish the desired database records and associated files to both internal and external business partners (world-wide). The Web Client supports the advanced enterprise security to authenticate the user’s specific access rights (view, print, download, modify, contribute). The User Rights Manager provides advanced security and allows for the implementation of “Class Documents” to accommodate individual and document specific rights. The Web Client supports connections to either the Production database (where files are being modified) or the Released Only database (which contains only released files) to control secured access based on the user’s overall needs. Engineering support personnel frequently access data from the Production database while Manufacturing and Purchasing personnel are typically accessing data from the Released Only database. Based on the user’s login, the Web Client can be configured to control access to revision history as well as access to filtered file types (example: only released PDF files vs. access to native CAD files). Based on the user’s login, the Web Client supports the need for on-demand PDF, DWG, and DXF file generation of various file formats as well as the ability to download the registered engineering files.

WEB CLIENT (EASE) The Web Client provides users (purchasing departments, document control, shop floor, etc.) a cost-effective method of accessing the Mech Works database. The Web Client’s intuitive interface and small installation footprint make it an application that requires minimum support and virtually no training.

The workflow approval procedures are a natural delivery mechanism for publishing data from Engineering to the ERP/MRP/SAP business application (electronically). The DB Werp module provides the flexibility to apply customer specific rules for database mapping criteria for Item-Master data and BOM structures. DB Werp eliminates the repetitive task of manually re-entering the same data in multiple applications.

DBWERP (CORE FEATURES) DB Werp can be used within the Mech Works PDM environment to process the controlled delivery of data with your organization’s ERP/MRP/SAP application. Core features include: Re-Use Your Design Data with DB Werp (Stop Re-Entering the Same Data) EXPERIENCE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

• Push Item-Master data to ERP/MRP/SAP (Creates new Item-Master records or Updates existing Item-Master records) • Pull Item-Master data from ERP/MRP/SAP (Updates existing records in Mech Works PDM) • Compare Differences between Item-Master records • Push Engineering BOM structure to ERP/MRP/SAP (Creates new BOMs or Updates existing BOMs) • Compare Differences between BOM structures • Visual Cues • Status/Progress Monitor • Administrate the Database Mapping Process • Administrate Customer Specific Mapping Conditions (concatenating two fields from one database to a single field for the other database) • Use Formal Release Process to Coordinate Event Driven Delivery of Data • Single source of truth

DBWERP DBWerp acts as the bridge between Mech Works PDM and the ERP/MRP/SAP application. DBWerp’s intuitive nature adds Visual Cues to the interface of Mech Works PDM, highlighting the status of the records that are aligned between the two databases. To eliminate administration overhead, the DB Werp clients connect to a single Web Server (through a Gateway) so the Web Server can manage the requested tasks. The Web Server also streamlines the communication connection to the ERP/MRP/SAP application and reduces the license demands against the ERP/MRP/SAP environment. DB Werp works with the engineering workflow process to control when data is approved for the delivery process to the ERP/MRP/SAP application. This ensures that proper data is entered once and re-used (pushed/pulled) throughout the organization. By sharing the data instead of manually re-entering the data, the DB Werp module helps eliminate data entry mistakes and establishes consistent data nomenclature. DB Werp also provides event driven scripts to handle advanced data transformation requirements.

DBWERP (ADVANTAGES) The DB Werp module facilitates the electronic delivery of approved data between Mech Works PDM and the ERP/MRP/SAP environment. DB Werp allows the two database environments to communicate and act as a single data-source through controlled procedures that distribute shared data. By delivering the electronic data, DB Werp eliminates keyboard entry mistakes and inconsistencies.
