automotivesector and in themanufacture of industrial supply systems, among others. The new 330kW induction annealing unit reaches operating temperatures of up to 1,200°C. As a result of the heating process in inductive annealing, the material characteristics of the tube are effectively optimised. After the welding, Schoeller Werk ensures homogeneity throughout the material. The firm sets high standards in production and material procurement to achieve consistently high process quality. In recognition of this, the company was recently awarded the CQI- 9 Certificate, a heat treatment guideline, by the North American Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG). Schoeller Werk’s range of products includes TIG- and laser-welded stainless steel pipes, drawn precision pipes in straight bespoke or fixed lengths, and annular pipes. The company develops its own plant technology and tailors its product range to the needs of its

SCHOELLER Werk, a specialist for longitudinally welded stainless steel tubes, is expanding its in-line induction annealing capacities for laser welding, as it aims to satisfy rising demand for induction-annealed stainless steel tubes for supply lines in the industrial and automotive sector. In order to cover the increasing demand in the long term, Schoeller Werk has added a newly developed ‘Induction Annealing’ function module to an existing laser welding line. The firm possesses 105 welding machines in total. These now include 11 laser lines and 36 TIG lines for the in-line induction annealing of tubes after welding. The expansion was made possible by the modular system developed by Schoeller Werk for the construction of its welding lines. The systems can be extended in future to include further processing steps. Induction-annealed tubes are used in various branches of industry, in the
