Cleaning of Body Spillages Although very unpleasant, we may come across bodily fluids whilst conducting our day to day duties.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Cleaning of Body Spillages
When cleaning / dealing with bodily fluids, we must ensure that we use gloves and an apron for our own protection.
The contaminated area needs to be washed with water and a detergent, treated with sanitiser or disinfectant, left for at least ten minutes and re‐washed with clean water, using a clean disposable cloth, mop or brush which has not been previously contaminated.
We must throw away all cleaning cloths after the task is complete.
As and where permanent damage has been caused to a room, we must report this to the duty manager straight away.
