with Sri Ganesh

… B comes in carrying a large bucket with two big colorful fishes which he wants to offer to Avirbhav, Sri Ganesh’s pond; he says he will fix the new shelves in the shrine tomorrow. Some Rs. 50/- are offered… Madhu and his wife come in at the end of the Aarti and offer Rs. 500/-. I suggest to him later that, since his birthday falls on a Sunday, I could come in the afternoon to open the shrine for them to pray quietly and he readily agrees. Now it is all simpler; he takes my hand onto his head very sweetly for blessings and his wife is cheerful and at ease. How come ten whole years were required for this simple release?

… B brings in the ready wood shelves, but it is already late and he will fix them on Monday. … I just finished one notebook and re-opened one which is largely blank, just to finish the year in; this old notebook had been actually dedicated to one of my “projects”, an excellent one in fact, for a cooperative crafts unit which would invest its profits into the local village infrastructural welfare; it was at the best time of the relationship with M, who had even taken the handwritten descriptive to Varanasi and got it set within a chiseled and engraved large silver tube and blessed. Perhaps I ought to look at it again, once the new web site I am working on to share my writings and drawings will be launched… My problem now is that, besides being divested, since long, of vital energy, I am now constantly battling with a near crippling condition and any activity demanding physical mobility and intensive interchange has become for me beyond reach…
