Namaste Sri Ganesh, Harmonist And Keeper of the Way, Namaste Priyaganesha Aum

- 11-08-15:

A few scattered showers in the night: there is now a bright leaden color in the sky… …A man I have known distantly for some years, who is drawn to try and help orphaned or handicapped children, comes to pray and tells me about his current projects: with two other men he is now building a small temple to both Agnishwar and a leading Shakti of medicine and they are cultivating a certain plant that, he says, cures cancer and three of the children he looks after have already been rid of the cancer that was afflicting them… And then a man in traditional dress, with shaved head, comes to pray and tells me he seeks peace of mind, as he cannot stop thinking of his failures… And then, the local lady to whom I often give a lift when she returns from the market with heavy sacks of staple and vegetables, a hard-working woman who speaks her mind, comes in to offer a bunch of dwarf roses and Rs. 10/-. In this way I am presented some days with a range of attitudes or approaches to what we call a god, to what Sri Ganesh, or Pillayar as they name him over here, represents and brings in people’ lives and, along with these various positions, with possibilities of establishing a sort of intermediate profitable zone… But there is in me or with me nothing that stirs this way, nothing at all… This is surely why so few people come in to pray; but is it also why amongst these few are those whom I despair of ever seeing advance in any way, who seem to be perfectly content with no progress whatsoever…?!
