Late afternoon, after our work in the garden, Manikandan shows me the draft of a note he wishes to post in the “Auroville News”, regarding the entrance to the Auroville area – where this shrine is situated – and the opportunity Auroville still has to make it interesting and beautiful, rather than letting it go in the hands of ordinary development, as happened at the other, seaside end of Auroville; I am glad he has felt the need to put into words and action what we have discussed several times.

… There are questions: in this sadhana and this relationship with a reality and an aspect of Divinity – Sri Ganesh – which is not based in the physical plane but in another, subtle, “higher” plane, I need to turn to That – to the Supreme -, to the Truth that wants to manifest here in Matter, upon earth. While doing so, I do meet with a response, which I feel is Sri Ganesh; but I also feel that I am exploring, calling, invoking, discovering and, perhaps, joining a pool of experience which is not well-known… But what is the role of that particular plane in the work to be done here? What are the role, the function and the use of a relationship between a human being, based in humanity, and another being, based in godship?
