... Muthu happily watched the puja and attended the Aarti but, when the headman came in he at once left...; there are obviously some distances between people of this village! The elder came in later with two lotus buds and Rs. 10/-. When I arrived this morning I found folded bills of ten rupees in the recess by the gate; as there was a beggar woman resting nearby I assumed she had kept them there for safety and I went in; but later when I went to clean the gate area, I saw her get up and leave without even a glance towards this money; so I brought it in and offered it to Sri Ganesh: Rs. 50/-.
