of mechanical aids and  good lifting techniques.  Ensure clothing is well  fitting, suitable for the  task and does not  prevent the handler from  achieving the optimum  handling position.  Avoid  tight fitting clothing  during handling and  lifting.  Pockets etc that may  snag on the  load/handling aid should  be concealed.  Alternative methods of  handling may need to be  considered if the use of  PPE leads to new risks  from the contents of the  load.  Ensure manager has  appropriate  communication skills. 

Other factors:  Is  movement  or posture  affected by  clothing or  personal  protective  equipment?
