Golf in Spain

GOLF AND ECOLOGY

There are two unusual rustic courses very near Madrid. The Club de Golf Somosaguas , in Pozuelo, and Quijorna Golf . They are very simple courses where only rainwater is used, which send us the message that golf can be ecologically sustainable. Quijorna, with 18 and 9 holes, is in a particularly pretty spot, on a hillside surrounded by oak trees. Next to the Riotinto Mines in Huelva you'll find the Club de Golf Corta Atalaya . This is the oldest course on

Mainland Spain and it was founded in 1914. The main attraction is the incredible view of the Riotinto opencast mine, with a spectacular array of red, ochre and copper tones. In the area around Barcelona you'll also be able to play golf at the Club de Golf Castellterçol , which stays green naturally for most of the year.
