Motorised storage basket that limits noise pollution PROVEA, a French company

straps will automatically go down following the number of tubes in the basket. A sensor detects when the system is full, so the operator can empty it. Then a simple press on a button will put the straps back in to an upper position and the system can be filled again. Provea offers a large range of this system suitable for different tube diameters (from less than 50mm to 200mm) and can support 5 to 10,000kg. main noise pollution sources. To meet their customers’ expectations Provea decided to design a system based on motorised straps. This solution has been chosen for its resistance, low cost and flexibility. As a feeding system, motorised straps will keep going up to feed the machine with a controlled number of tubes. It allows letting a bundle in the entry basket and letting the system work until there is no tube left. Sensors will detect and advise the operator to fill the system when it is empty. At the end of the machine tubes often fall directly on to the floor or come into contact with metal. In this case, they will go in to the basket smoothly using the straps. It avoids damage and reduces noise dramatically. A brake is installed, so

specialising in designing and manu- facturing machines for the tube Industry, has been developing feeding and reception systems for many years. For decades tube manufacturers faced problems regarding feeding of machines and tube reception at the end of the process. It takes time, effort and many workers to keep feeding a machine with heavy tubes without slowing down the production line. Moreover, letting tubes fall into metal baskets can impact the tube quality. There is also the problem of noise pollution. Current legislation regarding work conditions has forced tube manufacturers to improve their premises and to avoid heavy and large tubes falling, which represents one of the
