Portable calibration unit SWAGELOK’S new M200 portable calibration unit delivers on-site power supply maintenance, providing

various diagnostics and measures output levels. The unit is designed to specifically calibrate based on critical welding variables including: current – automatic calibration to ensure proper current output for future welds; voltage – provision of simple, on-screen adjustments to match actual values with expected values; and travel speed – electrode travel speed is verified and adjusted in real-time via the M200 operating software, eliminating the need for frequent calibration. This verification is displayed and documented as part of the calibration software, making documentation easier for users. The M200 portable calibration unit is a 2013 recipient of Gases & Instrumentation International magazine’s Golden Gas Award for technologically innovative, high quality and cost-effective solutions to challenges in the gas industry.

The unit allows for immediate calibration of a Swagelok welding systemM200 power supply. Many quality systems require orbital welding power supplies to be calibrated periodically. Traditional calibration processes are completed off-site at a designated service location, leaving operations idling or needing to incur extra expense with rental equipment. Portable calibration helps minimise down time, which is key for remote or secured environments such as offshore oil drilling platforms, nuclear plants, and government sites that cannot easily arrange power supply transport to and from service centres. The M200 portable calibration unit is designed with enhanced technology focused on promoting efficiency through the welding process. On-screen navigation prompts users to initiate the calibration process. The calibration unit then performs

added convenience, reduced costs and improved efficiencies that can cut servicing timelines from days to minutes.
