Subgroups Membrane Transport

Thank the many members who joined in the business meet- ing. Their feedback is invaluable. Finally, thank our sponsors for their support – especially our 381 members, who all seemed to attend the Saturday sub- group meeting. In the upcoming months, watch for requests to suggest speakers for next year, contribute to our subgroup Twitter feed, and find sponsors. As always, we invite all members of the Biophysical Society to join our subgroup – don’t forget to register so we can buy more coffee next year. Looking forward to seeing you in 2020. — Susan Rempe , Ming Zhou , Lucie Delemotte

Now that the Annual Meeting is over, there are many people to thank. First, thank the speakers, who all gave fantastic talks: Chris Miller , Cristina Paulino , Josh Vermaas , Lyna Luo , Crina Nimigean , Chloe Martens , and Michael Grabe . Next, thank the cooks who prepared a delicious dinner in the church next to Edgar Allen Poe’s grave. At the same time, thank Membrane Biophysics leaders for organizing that dinner and inviting our subgroup. And thank the Cole Award winner, Gail Robertson, for an inspirational talk. Thank the 10 students who put together eye-catching posters for the SRAA event ( Vouga, Castellani, Wen, Zheng, Chen, Charon, Shome, Miranda, Krishnamoorti, Bari ), and the 8 volunteers who enthusiastically discussed the student’s work with them ( Boccacio, Picollo, Autry, Razavi, Grabe, Luo, Zhou, Rempe ). A shout-out to Kehan Chen and Williams Miranda on their awards, and to Ayush Krishnamoorti for getting into the second round as a high school student!

The Biophysical Society is grateful to its 2018 Industry Partners.
