Dear Residents of Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland,
January 2026
Dear Residents of Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland, To ensure our students continue to find academic success in the classroom and personal growth throughout their high school experience, Poland Regional High School will be hosting a re-accreditation visiting team from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in early 2026. The process is undertaken every ten years and strives to: ● emphasize student learning outcomes, ● encourage a vision for growth and development, ● foster school improvement by encouraging schools to self-reflect, set and work toward goals, and act on feedback for continuous progress toward respective visions for growth, ● and ensure a growth-oriented and inquiry-based approach to school improvement. As part of the accreditation process, PRHS and RSU16 have developed a Portrait of a Learner to guide teaching and learning. This fall, during their student-led conferences, the high school students shared their learning experiences connected to the five Portrait of a Learner dimensions: To ensure our students continue to find academic success in the classroom and personal growth throughout their high school experience, Poland Regional High School will be hosting a re-accreditation visiting team from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in early 2026.
