The south-facing 1er Cru slopes in the Les Beauregards vineyards provide shelter from cold northerly winds with excellent exposure to sunlight, essential in Chablis’s cool climate, providing good ripening opportunities. Basic Chablis wines from the flatter surrounding land tend to be leaner in style. The quality of the Les Beauregards vineyard site is down to its soils, which have much higher levels of limestone than the surrounding land.
