Summer as it was : We certainly had some warm weather, which we have had high humidity!!!! Thankfully the weather should be now cooling down soon as Autumn approaches. If you are worried about your plants with all this heat we have had, just check the following. • Check any plants that you are worried about or think that maybe dead, by using a finger nail or sharp blade do the scratching test, Scratch the bark to see if it is green underneath. Many plants will look burnt , dry on the outside but remain green and much alive on the inside. Don’t remove too many of the burnt foliage as these act as a shield to the new growth. • Give everything good dose of liquid seaweed such as seasol , harvest or pellet such as seamungus. Do this each fortnight till new growth appears. TIP: regular application of seaweed products leading into summer help strengthen and reduce heat stress on plants. Once new growth appears apply a general fertiliser to help fuel the growth . Most of all keep everything watered well.
