Conference Overview ACA’s finest meet in Boston!

I n a city known for its historical impact on the United States, it was no surprise that the American Correctional Association had a historic and impactful Congress of Correction this past August. From Aug. 1-6, the 149 th ACA Congress of Correction was held at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center in the heart of Boston and brought together the best and brightest in the correctional field. The six-day conference was attended by thousands of attendees aiming to learn about improvements in the field, as well as to attend workshops and programs to

increase their knowledge about corrections. This conference was also notable for ACA’s first-ever scavenger hunt using the ACA Confer- ence app. Not only did the app inform attendees where and when workshops and events occurred, but it also sent attendees all over the conven- tion center to fulfill a series of requirements to enter the special competition. The winner of the scavenger hunt left Boston with a free conference registration, an e-learning course package, a free ACA Professional One membership for one year and more.
