off with the grand prize of a new 2019 Chevy Cruz, while two runners-up left with brand-new iPads. Lastly, the Congress of Correction concluded with the annual E.R. Cass Awards Banquet. The award, named after former ACA general secre- tary, Edward R. Cass, has been given out at every Congress of Correction since 1962, recognizing those who have dedicated years to improving and revolutionizing the corrections field. This year, the award went to two individuals: J. David Donahue, Senior Vice President and President, GEO Secure Services, and Dr. Mary L. Livers, Ph.D., Owner of Livers Corrections Consulting LLC, and Part-time Adjunct Professor at Loui- siana State University. The two honorees gave
wonderful acceptance speeches and graciously accepted their awards. With the 149 th Congress of Correction conclud- ed, planning immediately began for the upcoming ACAWinter Conference in San Diego from Jan. 9-14, 2020. This conference promises to be an educational and exciting event. The Winter Conference will see the debut of the all-digital ACAWinter Conference Program Book and numerous workshops and training programs to ensure that attendees stay on top of changes in the corrections field. We can’t wait to see all of you in sunny California this January.
