FIRST CUT AND JULIA’S IRON LADY BLADE

J ulia Utensili recently developed a new blade called the ‘Iron Lady’. The product is different from her standard blades as the steel, blade coating and process used to produce it are all highly advanced. The Iron Lady is an innovative circular saw blade com- bining the toughness of steel with the perfor- mance of carbide. The extra fine-grained high-speed steel (HSS) blade has hardness values above 900 HV (Vickers hardness rating). The ef- ficiency of the blade is enhanced by a mul- ti-layer physical vapour deposition (PVD) coating with a surface hardness of more than 3 650 HV. The innovative production process al- lows for very tight manufacturing toler- ances, while the teeth have a specific profile designed for high-performance cutting. TROUBLESHOOTING electrical systems can be time-consuming and potentially dan- gerous because it requires access to metallic contact points. Fluke® T6 electrical testers with FieldSense technology make trouble- shooting safer and more efficient by allowing electricians to take simultaneous voltage and current measurements — not just detection — without test leads. The T6 testers now make it possible to take reliable true-rms measurements in crowded junction boxes or along con- ductors with inaccessible end points, sav- ing time, minimising potential errors, and greatly reducing the possibility of arc flash. With the Fluke T6-600 and T6-1000 testers, electricians can: • Be safer: Measure voltage up to 1000 V ac through the open fork without test leads or exposed conductors. • Be faster: With no need to open panels or remove wire nuts, electricians can speed through troubleshooting. • Be more efficient: Simultaneously meas- ure and display voltage and current on the T6-1000. The T6-1000 also meas- ures resistance up to 100.0 k Ω . • Be everywhere: With a wide open fork in

Iron Lady is only one of many blades Julia Utensili offers to the professional in- dustrial market. “There are countless types of material, such as steel, alloys, wood and plastic – to name a few – which our cus- tomers need to cut. For each of these ap- plications, Julia has developed a blade to do so as accurately and efficiently as pos- sible,” says Gary Willis, director at First Cut responsible for the consumables division. High-quality blades from Julia can be repeatedly re-sharpened to get more ‘lives’ out of each blade. As an extension of their customer service ethos, First Cut has a highly efficient blade collection and deliv- ery service, all within exceptionally short turnaround times.

DRINKING WATER as a food product must be precisely monitored in terms of area supply and also in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries. Owing to the proven online analysis system type 8905 fromBürkert, it is possible to measure all relevant parameters. The modular system offers space for up to six sensor cubes for, among others, ORP (oxidation reduction potential or redox potential), pH value, chlorine, turbidity and conductivity measurements. Depending on the water quality, the sensors need to be cleaned at regular intervals in order to remove lime scale, iron or organic deposits and, if necessary, recalibrated. In addition to the present, permanently installed automatic cleaning system MZ20, which cleans all sensors simultaneously in fixed cycles, a mobile variant is available – the battery-operated handheld cleaning and calibration tool MZ15. It enables simplemanual cleaning and/or calibration of individual sensor cubes in the field without having to go to the trouble of handling reagents. The user can respond quickly and in a needs-oriented manner to sensor drift and contamination and set flexible cleaning or calibration intervals such as meeting company and user-specific quality standards. The light-weight handheld tool is available as a basic ver- sion for cleaning and as an extended version that enables both cleaning and recalibration. To ensure easy handling, the tanks with a cleaning liquid and, if needed, a calibration solution are integrated in the handheld tool. The system has been optimised to guarantee low chemical consumption. The required liquids for cleaning or calibration are simply T he OLFA L5-AL X-design model with the ComfortGrip is a heavy-duty ultra-smooth cutter with auto-lock. It utilises the sure grip handle made of elasto- mer and glass-fibre-reinforced polypropy- lene which is acid, acetone, and oil resistant. Built-into the handle is the metal end wing for multi- purpose applications. Olfa has selected the comfort grip handle for this model incorporating the black rubber surrounding for a comfortable safe soft grip, adding the sliding click auto-lock feature and metal wing to the end for multiple uses, as well as a low friction fluorine coated speed blade. The Olfa blister pack comes packed with a free spare excel black speed blade. “Olfa has taken its OLFA L5-AL/LFB CUTTER

filled into the tanks. The hot swap-capable sensor cubes are then removed individually from the analysis system during operation, inserted into the cleaning tool, subse- quently cleaned and, if needed, calibrated by the system and finally re-inserted into the online analysis system. Via the standard interface of the Bürkert device platform EDIP, based on CANopen, the MZ15 can be connected to a 7” touch screen or a PC with the Bürkert communicator soft- ware. This enables quick and simple calibration and facili- tates documentation tasks.

FLUKE T6 ELECTRICAL TESTERS WITH FIELDSENSE TECHNOLOGY

the industry, the T6 testers measure 4/0 wires up with current up to 200 A. The Fluke FieldSense technology enables testers to give simultaneous, reliable voltage and current readings, not just simple go/no- go voltage detection. The rugged testers are 1 000 V CAT III, 600 V CAT IV safety rated (600 V CAT III for the T6-600 model) and feature an easy to read display with a backlight.

DURABLE TOOLS THAT WORK WELL AND LOOK GREAT T he full range of recently launched pneumatic Cadex Tools is available from Vermont Sales dealers countrywide. Cadex Tools prides itself on designing, engineering and providing the highest quality pneumatic tools. This mission has driven the company to inte- grate form and function in order to create durable tools that work well and look great, with intuitive features that make every application easier. Since 1995, there have been many Cadex innovations in the fin- ishing tool market. These include the first 23-gauge tool to shoot headless pins and slight head brad nails from the same tool and the first 23-gauge and 21-gauge pin and brad nailers to shoot up to 55 mm. The company also innovated the built-in blowgun that has been incorporated into most gauge nailers and, for the first time, on a narrow crown stapler. The latest innovation is ‘Sure-grip’ paint that stays cool in summer and warmer in winter. By eliminating uncomfortable rubber hand- grips, the tools will remain firm and comfortable in the users’ hands.
