ELEGANT DESIGN USING LED TECHNOLOGY

MAJOR TECH’S ENHANCED D2 LED DOWNLIGHTS RANGE T he new patented Smart [3] by GEWISS is designed, developed and produced in Italy for low-height installation. It has an elegant design with highlighted features, uses LED technol- ogy and is now offered with reduced energy con- sumption, high impact resistance and LED lighting’s first IP69 protection in the world. Smart [3] allows for reduced energy consump- tion of up to 50% compared to luminaires using T8 fluorescent technology. A choice of Opal or Transparent diffuser with longitudinal faceting makes it the ideal solution not only in industrial applications, but also where aesthetics are important. The body, made entirely of polycarbonate, is suitable for food-related environments; high hu- midity applications and areas with high concen- trations of dust. Installation applications include warehousing, storage areas; production plants; car parks and garages, outdoor canopies and schools. Choice of materials and the design of the luminaires guarantee optimum safety during use, with excellent resistance to impact. The main characteristics of the Smart [3] include: • IP66/IP69 – IK08 – Class II: Degree of pro- tection, earth-free installation and high impact resistance allow Smart [3] to withstand damp, dirt and atmospheric agents. • Lightweight: The limited weight of the new lu- minaires makes all installation operations eas- ier and smoother. • Fixing centre distance: Thanks to the wide and variable centre distance of all the clips on the fittings, single traditional luminaires can easily be replaced using the same fixing holes without

• Reduced thickness: Compared to standard T8 fluorescent luminaires, the Smart [3] is more compact in design. • Life span and operating temperatures: Smart [3] guarantees an operating life span of 80 000 hours at standard conditions (-25° to 40° ambient temperature). • Colour temperature and CRI: CRI greater than 80 and a CCT of 4 000 K • 45° Fixings: Using the surface mounting fix- ing accessories, the luminaires can be installed with a 30° or 50° tilt.

the need to alter the electrical system. • Available sizes: fitting lengths of 800 mm, 1200 mm and 1600 mm. • Double finish: A longitudinal prismatic finish ensures the transparent diffuser offers opti- mum lighting efficiency, while the opal diffuser offers excellent visual comfort. • Feed-through wiring: The versions with feed- through wiring offer the possibility of continu- ous line installation and the perfect alignment of luminaires, thanks to the specific accessories supplied with the luminaire. • Quick wiring connector: The side entry doorway of the multi-pole connector reduces wiring and installation times.
