USD fields teams in a number of sports throughout the year. For information or schedules on any of the following teams, please call the USD Sports Center at (619) 260-4803. • Football. The T oreros enter compe– tition in the Pioneer Football League this season. The team will begin the season Sept. 4 at home versus Menlo College. Other opponents are: Sept. 11 vs Univer– sity of LaVerne; Sept. 25@ University of Dayton; Oct. 2@ Valparaiso; Oct. 9@ Cal-Lutheran; Oct. 16@ Evansville; Oct. 23 vs Butler; Oct. 30 vs Azusa Pacific; Nov. 6 vs Drake (Homecoming); and Nov. 13 vs Wagner.

•Golf. The USD Golf Team begins its season with the Coca Cola Classic at New Mexico State University on Oct. 1-3, and will continue through mid-April, wrapping up the season April 19 at the Point Loma Invita– tional. •Volleyball. The USD Volleyball Team schedule runs from Sept. 1, when the Toreros open with an away game at CSU– Northridge, to early December, when the NCAA playoffs are held. The last regular– season game is Nov. 23 at home versus San Diego State. •Cross Country. USD will participate in the LMU Invitational (at LMU) on Sept. 11, and will continue competition through October.

•Men's Soccer. Following a standout year in which the T oreros finished sec– ond nationally in NCAA competition, the men's soccer team this year kicks off the season with a Sept. 4 home game vs CSU-Bakersfield. The team plays a full schedule through September and Octo– ber, finishing with two away games at Gonzaga and the University of Portland on Nov. 5 and 7, respectively. •Women's Soccer. The season offi– cially kicks off Sept. 5 with a game at UC-Santa Barbara and continues throughout September and October, wrapping up with a Nov. 7 home game against UCLA. •Swimming. The USD men's and women's swim schedules run from October through February. The first women's meet will be the USD Blue/White Alumni Meet on Oct. 3 at 10 a.m.; the first men's meet will be the USD Pentathlon (intrasquad) on Oct. 16 at 9 a.m.
