The following was among the business trans acted :— Local Authorities' use of Printed Letting Agreements. MR. O'DONNELL, Vice-President, reported that during the hearing of a case by Mr. O'Shea, District Justice at the Carlow District Court, the Justice had commented adversely on the use by the Carlow Urban District Council of a printed form of tenancy agreement which was signed by the tenants in the office of a clerk of the Council without the intervention of any solicitor and stated that he considered this practice an infringe ment of the rights of the solicitors' profession. Mr. O'Donnell reported that he had communicated with the Secretary who had brought the matter before a Committee of the Council and subse quently instructed him to appear at the adjourned hearing of the case by the District Justice on 16th July, and to state that the Council fully supported what the Justice had said and that they considered it improper that Local Authorities should adopt the practice on which the Justice 31
