Stainless steel welded tube Marcegaglia is bringing its current leading position as the world’s top manufacturer of stainless steel welded tubes to a new high, expecting a global output of over 200,000 tons in 2011, and of around 350,000 tons including other stainless steel products. Italy hosts the Forlì plant (the world’s largest stainless steel welded tube plant) and two other excellence centres for tubes and bright bars. In the Americas, the US plant in Munhall is also dedicated to stainless tube and pipe, together with the Brazilian plant of Garuva, recently upgraded to double its manufacturing area. The Russian plant in Vladimir – some 180km East of Moscow – was started in 2010 and is now focused on welded precision tubes for all key stainless applications, planning to develop as a large sized service centre for flats. Marcegaglia process pipe range include certified products for applications in the food and dairy industry, drinkable water, chemical and pharmaceutical, oil and gas, heat exchangers, electrical resistances and other mechanical applications.
