Demonstration of the Competencies/Values

In order to prepare for this area there are three key recommended documents/sources to refer to:

1. The key responsibilities noted in the employees job description 2. The employee’s Learning Plan 3. The relevant competencies/values for their job role

The manager should ask themselves:

• How has the employee demonstrated the each of the competencies/values for each area of their job?

• How often did the employee demonstrate the competencies/values – often, sometimes, rarely?

• What could the employee have done more of or less of to demonstrate what is expected for each competency/value?

• Which competencies/values have they positively demonstrated by displaying an interest in and taking responsibility for continually improving themselves and achieving the defined elements of their Learning Plan. • The competency/value descriptors provide helpful examples of what is expected from each competency/value… how have they demonstrated the points referenced? What else have they done to demonstrate this?

• Which competencies/values are development areas for them and what support do they need in order to develop this area?

• Consider how to communicate in a Greenline way inspiring Clarity and Commitment using the key skills of Hear, Enquiry, Acknowledge and Straight Talk
