C ALIFORNIA D EPARTMENT O F F AIR E MPLOYMENT A ND H OUSING W ORKPLACE H ARASSMENT G UIDE F OR C ALIFORNIA E MPLOYERS (2017) The California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) has released a nine-page guide that is full of practical advice for responding to complaints of workplace harassment – much of which is already covered in this workbook. The Guide discusses how an employer can fulfill its duty to prevent harassment by using an effective anti-harassment program. The Guide also provides tips for: responding to a report of harassment; conducting a fair investigation; balancing the competing needs for confidentiality and a thorough investigation; and implementing remedial measures.
