The PHA Buzz August 2013

PHA Media gets streetwise with StreetChance

Oh what a night! PHA recruit Jersey boy Molloy! The Talent and Media Management Team are thrilled to announce the signing of Jersey Boys star Ryan Molloy. Ryan plays ‘Frankie Valli’ in the smash-hit musical and is the longest-serving ‘Frankie’ in the world!

The team have been hired to raise Ryan’s personal profile and to promote his fantastic new single called ‘The Night’. It is a cover of the 1972 Four Seasons classic which has been reworked and even includes a rap. It will be available to buy on iTunes from 15th August. Clint Eastwood is directing Jersey Boys the Movie and Ryan is a serious contender for the lead role. Ryan met producers of the film in London and is now being considered to play ‘Frankie’ in the screen adaptation of the smash hit musical. The producers saw Ryan perform on stage and were so impressed, they requested all his acting footage and invited Ryan to discuss the role at a secret meeting at the Dorchester Hotel.

PHA Media is celebrating the success of its first project, alongside not-for profit organisation Cricket for Change and the Young Ambassadors StreetChance initiative. StreetChance is a partnership between the Cricket Foundation and Barclays Spaces for Sports. The programme partners with the Metropolitan Police Service and County Constabularies to engage young people, from a range of backgrounds, in areas affected by youth crime and anti-social behaviour. This month, members of the PHA Media team met with participants from the StreetChance Young Ambassadors Scheme – individuals who possess an interest in sport - to provide them with an insight into the sports PR industry. Employees from PHA Media hosted an interactive session at the Kia Oval cricket ground, which gave StreetChance Young Ambassadors between the ages of 14 and 17,

a unique look at how PHAMedia provides PR support for a range of brands and individuals involved in sport. Cameron Hall, Account Manager at PHA Media, comments: “This was an opportunity for us to work with a fantastic organisation, which delivers great benefit to young people across London. The event was a chance for us to share with participants how a career in sports PR can be both an exciting and rewarding one”. Cricket for Change Development Coach and StreetChance Young Ambassadors Coordinator, Simon Pullan said: “We would like to thank PHA Media for their amazing workshop. It was very kind of the team to give up their free time and the workshop was very informative. The young people have been buzzing about it ever since! We look forward to continuing our relationship with PHA Media and value their support and enthusiasm for our projects.”
