In the interim, it is expected that providers work with all members of the team to support participants to meet their goals; acknowledging and including parents as core members of the team, who hold expert knowledge both of their child and of their family capacity and culture.

Australia (ECIA) was commissioned to undertake a project, including a national consultation, to provide recommendations for best practice. One of the clear finding from the consultations was that there are many different Interpretations and understandings of the terminology frequently used in describing early intervention service provision, including ‘transdisciplinary’ and ‘key worker’. A number of SPA members were nominated to the Expert Advisory Committee to the project, and had the opportunity to review and comment on the first draft of the recommendations. The final report and recommendations have been provided to the NDIS. Providers are awaiting further information
