Forty Days Full - An Invitation To Real Life

Day Twenty-Seven: Goodness

“I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another.” (Rom 15:14 NIV)

M any years ago, ‘Hostess’ had an advertising strategy. They described their products as ‘wholesome goodness.’ Every time I opened a package of Twinkies or Ding-dongs, I was told that what was going into my mouth was pure goodness. Today, that seems ridiculous because we know that too much of that ‘wholesome goodness’ could kill you. All that sugar, white flour and preservatives are simply not good for you. In fact, the word ‘good’ has taken quite a bit of abuse. Things that used to be considered bad are now good. And things that were good are now called bad. I think the word good could use a complete make-over. No one is good but One, that is, God.” (Luke 19- 18:18 NKJV) So to really understand the word good, we need to understand that God is word. This good God sent the good. He is the true definition of rough His death, burial His son Jesus to redeem humanity th pel or the Good News. and resurrection. This is called the Gos How good is the Good News?
