Forty Days Full - An Invitation To Real Life

ends our conversation with statements like 'I need to open myself to God again' or 'I need to get back in church.' It's amazing how effective we can be if we live our life and look for greatness in others. Bill Johnson says, "What you focus on gets bigger." There are plenty of things God could highlight that I need to change. In fact, He could choose to give me the list all at once! Thank the Lord, that is not His way. 'It is His kindness that leads us to repentance.' Many see God as angry and impatient. He is not! His focus is to always call me higher in love. “ I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:2-3a NIV The New Testament tells us that those who live by faith are the children of Abraham. The promise given to him is our inherited promise. He will make us great and through us all the nations of the earth will be blessed. God's intent was never for his people to arrogantly see themselves as better than everyone else. Heaven is expanded as we serve those around us. It is the Holy Spirit's job to convict the world of sin. It is not our job to bring down the prideful. We should view others as better than ourselves and by the power of the Holy Spirit call out the greatness in them. Is judgment coming? Off course it is! But, now is the day of salvation!
