Forty Days Full - An Invitation To Real Life

darkened her world and made her an unhappy, unfulfilled person. My heart broke for her as she opened up for the first time with great sobs. In this hidden place, the enemy had free reign to tell her the event was her fault, that she had brought it on herself. The fear of exposure had become so great that she had tried to bury the event, never to think about it again, but it had become a cancer that permeated her whole life. As she opened her heart, she became free from the inner world of accusations and her whole world began to change. Her personality shifted from fearful and insecure to engaging and friendly. Everything in her world began to change as she came to life. The apostle James instructs us to 'confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed... (James 5:16a NIV). It is this willingness to be open, that starts the healing. Even Jesus was confronted with the lies of the Devil. In His time of physical weakness in the wilderness, the enemy came to him sowing lies. Jesus used the truth from the word to dispel him. You see, in Christ we have the power to overcome every lie. "Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down." (Revelation 12:10 NIV) When we discover the truth about Jesus and the truth about ourselves, we can cast off the lies that controlled us. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony... (Revelation 12:11a NIV) When you find out "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32 NIV
