Bearing ICP Coiling Dragon 2c tied by ‘FOOCHOW’ Dollar chop, alongside Japanese Koban 1s green x 2, one stamp surface defects, both tied by illegible ‘SHANGHAI/I.J.P.O/18.3.89’ cds, on reverse with ‘SHANGHAI/18.3.98’ Dollar chop x 2, and ‘PHILADELPHIA/14.4.98’ arrival cancel, a few minor tears at the edges, but harmless to any stamps or cancel. A mixed franking cover from Hankow to Swakopmund, South West Africa (nowadays, the city is in Namibia) via, Calomba & Capetown, bearing ICP Coiling Dragon 1/2c, 1c, 2c, 4c, 20c, 30c, 50, $1 and CIP Coiling Dragon 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c. Tied by ‘HANKOW’ cds, hand stamped large ‘R’ letter and ‘R’ in black circle reg. chop, ‘LIGNE.N.PAQ.FR.No.1’ French ship cancel, on reverse with Hong Kong QV 10c purple on red paper strip of 5, tied by small single ring ‘SHANGHAI’ Br.P.O cds. with a lot of postmarks, including ‘HONG KONG/26.8.98’, ‘TUTIOOBIN/9.9.98’, ‘ADEN/23.9.98’, ‘N.E.T.P.O/UP/18.10.98’, ‘SWAKOPMUND/15.11.98’ arrival cds. 474 1898 (13 Dec.) A picture postcard depicting the Chinese Rifle Troop saluting the Prince Henry of Prussia (Prinz Heinrich) who was the commander of the East Asia Squadron, in Tientsin. Bearing CIP Coiling Dragon 1c strip of 4, tied by ‘SHANGHAI’ Dollar chop, one stamp is overlapped by HK QV 2c carmine in pair, tied by small singled ring ‘SHANGHAI/13.12.98’ Br.P.O cds. at the top tied by ‘I.P.O’ frame chop in red, the red IPO frame chop was found in Newchwang, Swatow and Tientsin. The red ‘SHANGHAI’ IPO has never been on record so far, extremely rare, with ‘HONG KONG/22.12.98’ transit. Photo HK$ 13,000 - 16,000
