has maintained the right to produce CuCd as one of the only European copper producers. Next to wire rod and drawn wire, the surface treated wire is one of the many possible products Lami l can o er rst tier companies. For certain applications the surface nish of the wire is a critical parameter. The technological department of Lami l has been able to implement a special production process that results in an exceptional surface quality for plating. The surface treated wire is also ideal to be drawn to ne end diameters, thanks to its superior processability. Also in the packaging of these wires interesting progress has been made, such as the Octabins, resulting in a cost-e ective alternative that is produced under better working properties. For the automotive industry Lami l is also researching the possibilities of new alloys in aluminium, such as 6082 and 6056. At the moment it is in the process of testing these new alloys to explore further

As a manufacturer of copper and copper alloy wires, Lami l has extended its expertise into the eld of copper speciality wires. Its range of alloys are used in various industries, including automotive and aviation. Lami l produces di erent copper alloys which all have their speci c characteristics. These alloys can be further subdivided according to their chemical composition, in uencing the tensile strength, elongation, electrical conductivity and exlife of the wire. Lami l’s production of CuMg and CuCd show an extremely high tensile strength (543–733N/mm 2 ) for a surface-treated wire with a diameter of 2mm. These two alloys combine high strength with good conductivity. Following the very stringent regulation of the EU, Lami l

➣➢➣ The product range includes: • Payo and take-up systems ( ange- driven systems, pintel-driven systems and shaft-driven systems) • Portal payo s and take-ups • Rewinding lines • Capstan and caterpillar systems • Accumulator systems: Vertical, hori- zontal, cassette, comb accumulator • Foil payo and take-ups • Multiple payo and take-up systems • Cooling trough systems • Extrusion lines • Special machines • Control systems and automation Kurre is able to develop solutions meeting client requirements and at short notice. New payo and take-up systems will be on show at wire 2014, including for products in medical technology with a very low tension range.
