Non-contact laser gauges

Board appointment Swiss cabling specialist Reichle & De Massari (R&M) has welcomed Pete Gough as its new managing director for the United Kingdom. In recent years Mr Gough has successfully raised the profile and market share of his previous employer. He has been in the datacom industry for the past 21 years and brings an in-depth knowledge of both office cabling and data centre markets and solutions. He worked as principal network support engineer for a major telco in the UK before he became Panduit‘s European product support manager and regional business director for the Middle East and Pakistan. He also developed and grew the company’s DCIM business across EMEA.

Puretronics offers two laser diameter gauges (up to 35mm and up to 150mm) which are non-contact micrometer gauges as well as having an online outer diameter controller. The non-contact measurement technique enables the user to stabilise the extrusion process especially for cable production lines. The gauges are easy to set up and use, and have an aluminium housing providing durability. They are insensitive to product vibration and movement, even in rugged product environments.

The main features include: High and low value alarm, out of range alarm, alarm on-off selection, high accuracy, low drift measurements, rugged case construction sealed for longer life, accurate measurement regardless of where the product is positioned within the measuring gate using an advanced digital signal processor, and the laser micrometer sensor head minimises external interference to give the most accurate and stable diameter measurements possible.
