CITY OF SHAKOPEE MANAGEMENT’S DISCUSSION AND ANALYSIS December 31, 2018

Business-Type Activities Business-type activities increased the City’s net position by $3,356,460. Revenues increased while expenses decreased between the current and prior year. The major increase was related to developer contributed capital in 2018 which totaled approximately $4.1 million. The sewer and storm water activities will continue to experience ongoing expenses as capital investment is required to maintain and reconstruct the City’s utilities.
