Their son, Emanuel, the second Duke, had no son; consequently the Duke­ dom descended in turn to the three sons of his brother Francis. The present Duke and Grandee of Spain is Francis, son of the youngest of the three brothers, and therefore a great-grandson of Emanuel. Antonio Louzada was also ancestor to Henry, Lord Ludlow (married to Blanche, Lady Howard de Walden) whose father Sir Henry Lopes Baron Ludlow was Judge of the High Court, his father Sir Ralph Franco having assumed his mother’s name of Lopes.
