Questions to Ponder Below is a list of questions to help in determining if your organization might be a good fit for outsourced accounting: ∙ Does your staff have the proper skill sets, expertise and experience to do the various functions required for seamless accurate accounting? ∙ What is your time worth to the organization and can you grow your organization if you outsource the accounting process? ∙ Does the organization have the proper oversight of the various accounting processes? ∙ Are you receiving the best management information possible to make informed, sound and appropriate management decisions? ∙ Do you spend an excessive amount of time performing various accounting tasks?

Experience has shown that the most successful organizations begin with a sound end-goal in mind before developing a roadmap for success. Determine what information you need to run the organization and then decide if you have confidence in this information presently. Organizations should examine all of their accounting processes to determine what is done efficiently and what is the skill set level of current staff. It can be straining on organizations to place experts at every level and be able to maximize their effectiveness. Outsourced accounting can help organizations bridge that gap. It is highly recommended to include your CPA firm in this process to help provide an objective opinion from someone outside the organization.

∙ Is your organization too small to implement sound internal controls by itself?
