Carl Reed Director ofJenny Craig Pavilion Carl Reed joined the USO staff in Ju ly, 2000 in the new position of Di rector of the Jenny Craig Pav ili on.
John Martin has been a member of the US O ath letic staff since 1975 . He was the school's first head women's volleyba ll coach, a post he he ld through the 1989 season, and also oversaw the Recreation Department. As volleyball coach, he directed theToreros to three postseason ap– pearances, including a 4th place finish at the 1976 AIAW Nationals. A graduate ofSaint Mary's Col lege (B.A . in Pol itics, '96; M.A. in Sports Adm ini stration , '99), Reed also held ath– letic department positions at Saint Mary's Col- lege and with the West Coast Conference. Besides overseeing all home athletic events, Reed wi ll help oversee the management and marketing of the building to help attract outside events like concerts, trade-shows, etc. Carl resides in La Mesa, Ca lifornia. A graduate ofSan Di ego State (B.A. & M .A. in Hi story), John resides in Encinitas with hi s wife Jane. They have two chi ldren: El iza, a senior at USO, and son, Patrick, a senior at San Dieguito High School. Joel Morgan Asst. Dir. ofAthletic Facilities The past two years he served as a Graduate Assistant at Gonzaga Un iversity where he earned hi s Master ofArts Degree in Athletic Adminis– tration. Joel has participated in event manage– ment duties for such contests as the NCAA Wrestling Championships, NCAA Men's Gym– nastic Championships, and Big Ten Tennis Championsh ips. Joel also obtained experience as an administrator for the 1999 NCAA Elite Eight and 2000 Sweet Sixteen Men's Basketball Tournaments. Joel obtained hi s Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Manage– ment from the University of Iowa in 1997. Joel and his wife, Erin, reside in Mission Valley. C handra Koh le r begins her first year at US O in the new position of Events Man– ager for the Jenny Craig Pavi lion . Kohler comes to USO from the Univer– sity of Denver where she was the Assistant Director of Faci liti es and Operations for theDiane L. Ritchie Center. She earned her master's degree from Bowling Green State University in Sports Administration and her bachelor's degree from Central Michi– Academic Support Coordinator Shaney Fink begins her first year as US D's Academic Support Coord inator. She takes over for Mike Matoso, who moves into the newly created position of Compli– ance Coordinator. This past year she was on the Torero vol– leyball coaching staff as a first year assistant, helping the Toreros to a 23-6 record and sec– ond round finish in the NCAA Tournament. Prior to USO she gained coaching experience Marc Meeker, Dir. of JCP Fitness Center/Asst. Strength Coach Marc Meeker, a nati ve of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, j oined the USO staff in August, 2000 as the director of the Jenny Crai g Pavilion Fitness Center, and Assistant Strength & Conditioni ng Coach. Mike Matoso is in hi s first season as USD's Compliance Coordinator, and second year with the USO staff. Last season he was the Aca– demic Support Coord inator. Prior to USO, he spent three years as the Academic Counselor at USC where he was involved with the football , baseball , women's soccer, swimming and vo lleyba ll programs. Prior to USC , Mike served as the Academic Advisor for all 18 intercollegiate programs for
at the high school, co llege and international levels for four years. She capped off a ste ll ar collegiate career ( 1990-93) at Ca l Berkeley and won selection to the Al l-Pac IO Decade Team. Fink completed her B.A., graduat ing with honors in Social Science from Berkeley in 1994.

Andie is in her first year as Athl etic Ticket Manager at USO. She came to San Diego from the Un iversity of Minnesota in Minneapoli s, Mi nnesota where she was the Ass istant Ticket Manager and worked in the ticket office since 1993. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kines iology with an emphasis in Sports Man – agement from the Uni versity of Minnesota in December, 1996.
