Log In and Sign Out

Start Menu

While the new Windows 10 Login screen looks quite different from previous versions of Windows, it works relatively the same. When the PC is powered on it will display the welcome screen with the time and date.

Windows 10’s Start Menu has been revamped from the ground up, incorporating the best features from the Windows 7 and Windows 8 Start Menus. Since the Start Menu is the central hub for everything in Windows there are plenty of ways to customize the Start Menu to make it fit your personal preferences. From resizing tiles, to changing the color, and even picking what folders you see.

Log In to Windows 10 1.

Click anywhere on the welcome screen

Change the size of the Start Menu 1. Click the Start Menu button 2.

2. Enter the Domain name\Domain Username into the User name field 3. Enter your password into the Password field 4. Click the arrow button to the right of the Password field or press Enter The next time you log in you will be able to select your name from the bottom-left

Drag the top edge to resize the height Drag the right edge to resize the width


4. Drag the top-right corner to resize the height and width

Change Settings 1.

Click the Start Menu button Click the Settings button

Sign Out of Windows 10 1.

Right-click the Start Menu Select Shut down or Sign out

Click Personalize

Select from the following choices: Sign out, Sleep, Shut down or Restart

Turn On or Off the features you prefer

Add folders 1.

Switch User

From the Start Menu settings screen, click Choose which folders appear on Start 2. Turn On or Off the folders you prefer

Switch User allows multiple users to use the same computer while keeping each account's programs and files open and running in the background. With the updated interface in Windows 10 it may be a little challenging to find familiar features such as Switch User. While there are several ways to Switch Users, pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del remains one of the fastest methods. You can also Switch User by clicking your name in the Start Menu .

Change the color 1.

From the Settings app, click Personalize

Select color preferences

Pin and Unpin an application 1.

Switch User 1.

From the Start Menu, find the application

Press Ctrl + Alt + Del Click Switch User

Click Pin to Start or Unpin from Start

Click Other user from the bottom-left

Enter new user’s credentials
