ISS activities include two product lines: the fluorescence analytical division manufactures and markets spectrofluorometers for time-resolved and steady-state fluorescence measurements and FLIM/FCS confocal microscopes; the medical division provides instruments for the absolute measurementsofoxygensaturationintissue(brain and muscle) as well as functional brain imaging. An extensive line of modular components complements the instrumentation: laser diodes, LEDs, high pressure cell and fiber optic sensors amongst an extensive line of accessories; data acquisition cards for FCS andFLIM, laser launch- ers, galvo-scanning mirrors and detector units. Applications include Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET), Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM), Fluorescence Fluctuation Spectroscopy (FCS, FCCS, PCH), tissue oxy- genation, and Optical Topography (NIRS).
