3091 北京不是北平, 1950不是卅九年 Beijing not Peiping, 1950 not Year 39
On September 22, 1949, the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (the Parliament) resolved that the city name Peiping be changed to Beijing and will become National Capital: also, the year numbering be changed to the Global Calendar. Accordingly, the Beijing General Post Office prepared eight different chops to reflect the changes. On the reverse side is the earliest usage of the 7th chop and the only one franked on Silver Yuan postal matter. 1949年9月22日全國政協議決, 北平改名為北京成為國都。年號則改為公元年。就此北京總局製造了八個郵戳, #1094封背 蓋的郵戳為第七種使用最早之一。而是唯一加蓋於銀元郵件者。 10th January 1950 sent from Chengtu (49.12.27), 17th January arrived in Beijing (49.01.31): affixed with one East Szechwan 5 fen Silver Yuan, which was equivalent to domestic postage. 1950年1月10日寄自成都 (49.12.27), 1月17日抵迖北京 (49.01.31), 上貼東川銀元5分一枚, 符合國內平信郵資。
