Pikes Wines Dry Riesling Traditionale, Clare Valley 2015

Pikes is situated in Clare Valley, in a cooler climate sub-region known as Polish Hill River. The vines enjoy east to southeast exposure and for the most part are ungrafted, with just a small percentage planted on rootstock. The soils are red brown earth over clay, with slate and broken bluestone subsoil. Fermentation in stainless steel lasted 25 days. 30178300

The Campbell family’s production of dessert and fortified wines dates back to the 1870’s. Muscat a Petit Grains Rouge, with an average vine age of 20-25 years old, is picked at maximum sugar levels. The resulting wine is blended with previous vintages using a modified Solera method to produce a consistent style. The final blend includes wine from vintages more than 30 years old. 30064697
