CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS

JULY 2019

CLUB RULES AND REGULATIONS :

GOLF COURSE AERATION JULY 22-25

As summer arrives, we want to remind members of a few more relevant Membership Rules and Regulation for the season.  A full list of club rules and regulations are available in the member portal at www.horseshoebendcc.com.

The greens, approaches, tees and fairways will be aerated, verticut, and top-dressed beginning on Monday, July 22nd through Thursday, July 25th. The golf course and driving range will be closed these four days and will reopen Friday, July 26th.   Tee times will be available during the closure at The Golf Club of Georgia for HBCC members for a cart fee of $25 per person.  Please book tee times at least 5 days in advance with the HBCC Golf Shop staff.  Aerification is our most important cultural practice of the year as it aids in water, nutrients, air infiltration to the soil, as well as physically removing the thatch layer that forms just below the surface. It is favorable for both members and the Course Maintenance department to aerate all areas in one week rather than spread out through the summer. With some help from Mother Nature, recovery time is expected to be two to three weeks.

ARTICLE 10 - FOOD AND BEVERAGE 10.12 Outside catering is not permitted without written consent of the Club.  All food and beverages consumed at the Club must be furnished by the Club.

ARTICLE 13 - SWIM CENTER 13.1 - GENERAL SWIM CENTER RULES

13.1.3 - Members with swim privileges and their immediate family may use the pool at no charge; guests must be accompanied by a Member; Members will be charged on their Club account for guest fees (no cash accepted). 13.1.7 - Children under the age twelve (12) are not permitted in the swimming pool areas unless accompanied by an adult or parent.  Parents may swim with children under the age of four (4) during adult swim. 13.1.8 - The water playground is for the enjoyment of children ages eight (8) and younger.  Parents have the responsibility of accompanying their children while in the water playground area. 13.1.9 - Non-swimmers may use lifeguard-approved flotation devices but must remain in the shallow end of the pools.  No other flotation devices may be used in the pools. 13.1.10  - The adult pool is for the enjoyment of adults only.  No one under the age of eighteen (18) will be allowed to use this pool or be in the pool area unless otherwise authorized by Club Management. 13.1.11  - Any child requiring the use of diapers is not permitted in any of the pools without wearing swim diapers and properly fitted plastic swim pants.  Swim attire with built-in plastic pants (not mesh) are permissible provided the pants are tightly fitted around the legs. Any child without proper attire is required to immediately exit the pool. 13.1.30 - No personal coolers are allowed.

ARTICLE 14 - RIVER ACCESS 14.1 - The crossing of Club property for river access is strictly prohibited. 14.2 - Entry to and exit from the river via Club property is prohibited at all times.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation and we look forward to a fun and safe summer!

TEE TIME RESERVATION SYSTEM In an effort to create a tee time reservation system which is fair and equitable for all members and efficient for our staff, Horseshoe Bend CC Management chose to proceed with an electronic lottery system. All tee time requests must be made online in the “Member Only” portal of the Horseshoe Bend CC website, www.horseshoebendcc.com. The lottery will allow ALL members with golf privileges four days to request the tee time they desire. Once the lottery closes, the computer system will take the requests and assign tee times in a fair and equitable way. The tee sheet will then be posted for members to review. All modifications, cancellations, and/or updates to a tee time must be made online, by the member, and may be completed only after the tee sheet is posted and prior to 24- hours before your start time. 2019 MEN'S MEMBER GUEST RESULTS 2019 Men’s Member/Guest Tournament, Results Congratulations to our 2019 Men’s Member-Guest Champions: Mr. Scott Rayburn and his guest, Mr. Robert Smith! We had a great week of competition with 59 teams in ten flights competing over three days for the opportunity to make it into our “Stampede Shootout”. Once the flight winners were determined, they were divided into three separate groups where they duked it out to get to the final shootout. We had three teams arrive at #17 tee to play two holes and decide our overall champions. Mr. Scott Rayburn and his guest, Mr. Robert Smith, from Flight 2, Mr. Richard Ellis and his guest, Mr. John Ellis, from flight 7, and Mr. Brent Paugh and his guest, Mr. Kyle Parks, winning a wildcard spot. On #17, the team of Mr. Paugh and Mr. Parks were knocked out in a chip off with Mr. Ellis and Son.  Mr. Rayburn and his guest Mr. Smith were able to close out the Ellis’s on #18 with a crowd of spectators. Thank you to all who participated in this magnificent event! We hope that you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you next year. It was a pleasure to see so many members and guests come together over three days, get to know each other, and have such a wonderful time. I heard a countless number of compliments from guests who were impressed with the golf course, amenities, and staff. It is always fun to have guests come to these events and give members an opportunity to show off the Club in such grand fashion.

Thank you again, and we will soon begin planning for 2020!
