Liquid launch Liquid Sea, a subsidiary of Liquid Telecom, has begun work on a new subsea cable initially linking Africa to the Middle East, but with onwards connectivity to Europe.

Nic Rudnick, Liquid Telecom Group CEO, has confirmed that bids have been called for to supply submarine cables for the project, which will be connected to Liquid Telecom’s African terrestrial network. The goal is to provide reliable and affordable international connectivity service to landlocked and coastal countries in eastern, central and southern Africa.
