PEARL OF THE LAKE CRUISE Arrive at Kelly’s Lake House in Lake City with breathtaking views of Lake Pepin. Menu: Special of the Day with a Beverage. After lunch stroll out on the large deck overlooking the lake. Board the Pearl of the Lake. Water levels will determine the incline of the gangplank from the pier to the boat. Enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Pepin and the Mississippi River aboard Pearl of the Lake. It is a modern day replica of the grand riverboats that traveled the Mississippi River in the 1800s. Learn about the history and take in the natural beauty of the river valley. True to tradition, Pearl of the Lake’s only means of propulsion is the twin paddlewheels in the stern. Her name emphasizes the historic significance of paddlewheel boats and the freshwater pearl industry on the upper Mississippi River. The mussels that produce freshwater pearls are very sensitive to pollution and an important indicator of water clarity. Hear how environmental factors

NATIONAL EAGLE CENTER, CHICKADEE COTTAGE AND NELSON CHEESE FACTORY En Route to the National Eagle Center, stop along the shores of the lake at Stahlie Park Rest Area. Upon arrival at The National Eagle Center in Wabasha, view exhibits and explore the newly reopened multimillion dollar expansion at your own pace. There is a platform for viewing interesting wildlife including bald eagles. Visit the gift shop. Join a private in house-eagle presentation—see the ambassador eagles and engage with the staff about these rehabilitated eagles that are used for educational programs. After the presentation reboard the motor coach and cross the bridge to Nelson, Wis. Shop at the Nelson Cheese Factory. Purchase cheese and indulge in an ice cream cone. The founders of the Nelson Cheese Factory made cheese for more than 100 years. While they no longer make cheese, the offerings have been expanded to include cheese fromWisconsin and around the world as well as fine wines and a gourmet selection of food. SAKPE TI LOUNGE The Sakpe ti Lounge is open to all Shakopee seniors. A space to call your own, you will want to come and enjoy it! This area is open during regular Community Center hours and is a warm and welcoming place to relax, socialize with peers and meet new neighbors. In addition to regular programming, we’ll have coffee available each day. Activities include playing cards, games, and more for everyone to enjoy—and of course, it’s all free! No membership required.
