and the same as london and the same as chicago except i never got laid and the second time there split my head down the whole way open falling from the sky and montmartre and spending two days in hospital eating applesauce out of these little paper tubs with stitches pinching my skull and there were flowers everywhere there and books for sale in english to tourists and i picked up wine cheap and potatoes and bread and we had a view in the apt there you could see pigeons like cows walking around a meadow and at night prostitutes all up the road i fell face first down granite steps like a sled-driver over snow and have a memory of standing up afterwards but they tell me the people who were there and called the ambulance that i just gargled blood like listerine and fell asleep
