TE15 Lithuanian Honey Cake
Terribly in Love Ten Poems By Tautvyda Marcinkevičiūtė Translated from Lithuanian
I WOULD LIKE I would like
to drop in on drugtakers’ dreams where for everyone separated by walls of skin and state unsterile needles, not the last incarnation of Mary, seem the instruments for brotherhood in Paradise;
I would like to murmur mantras, fingering wooden beads shaped by someone’s warm hands, someone calling himself Ramakrishna; I would like to turn away from mother and father’s morals,
to sleep between oranges and mail in train cars crowded with goods, running my eyes through Samaran and Astrachan landscapes;
